4.2.2 Manual Boat Drive (MBD)
The MBD is used for the manual transfer is samples on the sample boat to the combus-
tion tube. The user determines the transfer speed and thus the introduction of the sam-
ple into the combustion zone. The MBD may only be used in horizontal operation mode
for inert, non-reactive solids (e.g., SiO
2
) and AOX samples.
The MBD may not be used for the following analyses:
¡ Organic liquids and solids
¡ Gases and LPG
¡ EOX
¡ Water analyses (TOC/TC/TIC/NPOC)
¡ EC/OC
The MBD may not be combined with the autosampler or the flame sensor.
