Initialize
13.3 Initializing the basic module and the system components
Initialization of a measuring system establishes communication between the measuring
system and the computer. The multiWin program differentiates between a standard ini-
tialization and a basic initialization.
With standard initialization, only the system components active before the last shut-
down of multiWin are queried and the method last active is loaded.
The basic initialization, on the other hand, is more thorough and tests all connected sys-
tem components activated in the multiWin program in the window. The basic initializa-
tion must always be performed in the following situations:
¡ Connection of new system components
¡ Recognition of system components which were shut down or were not connected
during the last initialization
¡ Fault in the communication between the measuring system and the computer
Performing the basic initializa-
tion
Basic initialization is always performed if the

buttons are displayed in the main window.

button in the main window. Alternatively, select the

Initialize
menu item.
