Ethernet Connection Common Configuration
There are some important parameters to be set up no matter which type of WAN is selected.
Connection Control.
Auto-reconnect: The gateway will establish an
Internet connection automatically once it has
been booted up, and try to reconnect once the
connection is down. It is recommended to choose
this scheme for mission critical applications to
ensure full-time Internet connection.
Connect-on-demand: The gateway will not start
to establish an Internet connection until local data
is going to be sent to the WAN side. After normal
data transfer between LAN and WAN sides, this
gateway will disconnect the WAN connection if
idle time reaches value of Maximum Idle Time.
