(3) Adjustment / test – V-belt tensioning
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) Remove the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(c) Push the belt with a force of 50 N; the deflection can be max. 6 mm (see Fig. 24-8).
If the deflection is larger, tension the belt:
1 Loose the bolts (2; 3; 4).
2 Press the alternator (1) upwards and tighten the bolt (4).
3 Tighten the bolt (2) using a torque of 40 Nm and bolt (3) using a torque of
22 Nm.
(d) Install the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
