(4) Installationbattery FG Forte
NOTE
The battery you are installing on the aircraft must be charged.
(a) Insert the battery (1, Fig. 24-10) into the holder (6) or (7) on the firewall (9).
(b) Connect the strip for the battery attachment, using the lock (6) or the screw
turnbuckle (7).
(c) Secure the lock or the turnbuckle of the strip for the battery attachment (6), (7),
using the lockwire.
CAUTION
WHEN INSTALLING THE BATTERY, CONNECT THE
POSITIVE POLE AT FIRST.
(d) Connect he battery contacts to the cables (3). At first, connect the positive cable to
the positive pole of the battery (1):
1 Position the cable eye of the cable (3), marked as plus, to the positive pole
of the battery (1).
2 Install the screw (2) with the washers (4) and (5); tighten the screw using a
torque of 6 7 Nm.
3 Use the same procedure for the negative pole of the battery.
(e) Slightly lubricate the battery contacts by means of grease and protect it by the
rubber caps (6).
(f) Install the engine cowlings (Section 7110).
(5) Adjustment / testcapacity test of the battery FG Forte
NOTE
The values in the parentheses are valid for the battery
FG12200.
(a) Charge the battery with a current of 1 A to a minimum end voltage of 14,5 V
charging with constant current.
(b) The battery is considered charged if the voltage value of the battery doesn´t
increase during 3 hours of charging.
(c) Set the end discharging voltage of 10,4 V on the testing equipment.
(d) Set the discharging current of 15 A (20 A) on the testing equipment.
