CAUTION
DO NOT TOUCH THE FLASHTUBE WITH BARE FINGERS.
WHEN YOU HANDLE THE FLASHTUBE, WEAR SOFT
GLOVES OR USE A CLEAN CLOTH. MOISTURE AND
GREASE FROM YOUR FINGERS MAY CAUSE
MALFUNCTION OF THE FLASHTUBE.
(e) Remove the flashtube (3) and the seal (10).
(f) Remove the lenses (5; 7) with seals (6; 8).
(g) Remove the sealant from the gap between the light body (1) and the wingtip (14).
(h) Unscrew the screws (11) and slightly pull the light body (1) out.
(i) Cut the wires (12; 14) and remove the light body (1).
(4) Installation – position / strobe light
(a) Use a scraper to remove the old sealant from the wingtip (14, Fig. 33-5),
respectively the light body (1) and thoroughly clean the contact surfaces with a
cleaning agent.
(b) Put a new shrinkable tube on wires (12; 14). Use the soldering iron and solder to
attach them to the harness.
NOTE
Refer to the wiring diagram in Chapter 91.
(c) Cover the joints with a shrinkable tube and carefully heat it with a heat gun.
(d) Put the connector with wires (13) into the holes in the wingtip (14), align the light
body (1) with the wingtip and attach it with screws (11).
(e) Connect the connector with wires (13) to the harness.

(f) Put a functional flashtube (3) with seal (10) into the light body (1).
(g) Put the lenses (5; 7) with seals (6; 8) into the light body.
(h) Put the flashtube cover (2) including the lens (4) on the light body, attach and
tighten the screws (9).
(i) Use the cleaning agent to remove the grease from the contact surface intended for
application of sealant.
(j) Seal the gap between the light body (1) and the wing tip (14) with sealant.
(k) Install the cover W4L or W4R (Fig. 06-2).
(l) Connect the battery, switch the electrical network on and check function of the
position lights and the strobe light.
