(i) Unlock the clamps (22) of the drain hoses (17) and (18) of the airbox (1). Pull down
the hoses (17) and (18) from the outlets on the airbox (1).
(j) Remove the nut (30) and take out the washer (32); when removing the nut (30),
hold the screw (26) by means of wrench, thus preventing it from slipping.
(k) Slide out the string (12) from the hole in the screw (26). Slide out the screw (26)
from the hole in the lever (38) along with the washers (31).
(l) Remove the nut (37).
(m) Release the nut (29) and slide out the bowden hose (13) from the bowden
attachment (10). Remove the end piece of the bowden cable (11) with the nut (36).
(n) Pull down the connecting hoses (6) and (7) from the necks on the airbox (1);
remove the airbox (1) from the engine compartment.
(3) Installation – airbox
(a) Position the airbox (1, Fig. 71–7) in the engine compartment. Slide the hoses (6)
and (7) onto the appropriate necks of the airbox (1) and install the hose clamps
(23).
(b) Slide the venting hoses of the carburettors (19) and (20) on the appropriate outlets
of the airbox (1) and secure them by lockwire (24).
(c) Connect the drain hoses to the left sump (2) and to the right sump (3) by means of
the clamps (22). The hose for the right drain sump isn´t shown for better clarity – it
is a mirror image of the left one.
(d) Connect the drain hoses (17) and (18) to the airbox outlets (1) by means of the
clamps (22).
(e) Connect the air hoses (8) and (9) to the necks on the airbox (1) by means of the
hose clamps (23).
(f) Install the nut (36) on the end piece of the bowden cable (11). Insert the whole unit
into the hole in the airbox bracket (1) and install the nut (37).
(g) Insert the string (12) with the bowden hose (13) into the attachment (10) and at the
same time pass the string (12) through the end piece of the bowden cable (11).
(h) Put the washer (31) on the screw (26) and insert the string (12) into the hole in the
screw shank (26).
Put the washer (31) on the screw (26) and insert the screw (26) into the hole in the
lever (38).
Put the washer (32) and install the nut (30). Tighten the nut slightly and check the
function of the flaps.
(i) As needed, adjust the length of bowden cable and tighten the nuts (36) and (37).
(j) Tighten the nut (30). When tightening the nut (30), hold the screw (26) by means of
wrench, thus preventing it from slipping.
(k) Check again the function of the airbox flaps.
(l) Install the silent block (5) and slide the strut (4) and the washer (34) on the free
threaded part and install the nut (35); don´t tighten the nut.
(m) Position the free eye of strut (4) to the attachment (21), to the hole in the
attachment (21) and insert the screw (25) into the strut eye (4) and screw the nut
(28).
(n) Tighten the nuts (28) and (35).
