2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Oil cooler
Maintenance type: Line
Personnel qualification: Independent verification personnel qualified in accordance with
Part 66 or higher
Recommended tools and material:
Wrench No. 30 1 pc.
Wrench No. 22 1 pc.
Wrench No. 16 1 pc.
Wrench No. 10 1 pc.
Wrench No. 8 1 pc.
WARNING
BEFORE STARTING TO WORK, COOL DOWN THE ENGINE
TO THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE. NON-COMPLIANCE
WITH THE PROCEDURE MAY RESULT IN BURNS.
SWITCH OFF THE IGNITION AND TAKE OUT THE KEY!
(1) Removal – oil cooler
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) Remove the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(c) Drain the oil (Section 12-10).
(d) Valid for the original version of the cooler installation:
1 Unscrew and remove the nut (9, Fig. 79-3
), washer (10), bolt (8) and
disconnect the lower strut (11) from the cooler (1).
2 Unscrew and remove the screw fitting (3), reductions (4) and the sealing (5).
3 Unscrew and remove the nuts (6) and remove the cooler (1) with the cover
(2) and the washers (7).
4 Close the cooler necks and the hoses with suitable blind plugs.
(e) Valid for the new version of cooler installation:
1 Unscrew and remove the upper nut (15) and the washer (16) and disconnect
the cooler strut from the shock absorber (12).
2 Unscrew and remove the screw fitting (3), reductions (4) and the sealing (5).
3 Unscrew and remove the nuts (6) and remove the cooler (1) with the cover
(2) and the washers (7).
4 Close the cooler necks and the hoses with suitable blind plugs.
