D. Cleaning of display units and avionics hardware
Use cleaning agents specially designed for display surfaces which are safe for antireflective
layers. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to apply the agent.
E. Cleaning of the engine
CAUTION
WHEN YOU CLEAN THE ENGINE, DO NOT USE HIGHLY
FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS AND THINNERS!
If necessary, clean the engine with due diligence. Before you clean the engine, find the leakage
points. Clean the engine only when it is cold.
It is recommended to use the common cold cleaning agents (refer to Maintenance Manual (Line
Maintenance) for Rotax Engine Type 912 Series, Doc. No.. MML912, 899191).
Never clean the engine with a high pressure cleaner. It is dangerous for electrical installation
and crankshaft seals. Oxidation of various elements may cause a malfunction of the engine!
After each cleaning, use air flow to clean all electrical installation components, such as battery,
ignition, spark plug terminals, connectors, etc., to prevent formation of stray currents.
CAUTION
WHEN YOU CLEAN THE ENGINE, RESIDUES OF FUEL, OIL
AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTALLY HARMFUL SUBSTANCES
ARE WASHED AWAY. THEREFORE, THE WATER MUST BE
COLLECTED AND DISCARDED IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY
FRIENDLY WAY.
F. Cleaning of the propeller
If the propeller is dirty, wash the surface with a cloth soaked in lukewarm water with ordinary
detergent.
CAUTION
DO NOT CLEAN THE PROPELLER WITH AGGRESSIVE
CLEANING AGENTS. THIS MAY LEAD TO THE FORMATION
OF INTERNAL CORROSION OF PARTS OF THE
PROPELLER.
PREVENT THE CLEANING AGENT FROM ENTERING THE
PROPELLER HUB AREA. ALWAYS TURN THE PROPELLER
SO THAT THE WASHED BLADE POINTS DOWNWARD.
