7.6 Selecting measuring mode
You can specify how the measured readings are to be acquired and displayed.
Single Readings (default mode)
Measured reading acquisition after the probe is placed on the surface. The measured
readings are automatically saved in the batch (measurement file), provided the Save
Readings function is activated.
Free Running
Continuous measured reading display while the surface is being scanned with the
probe. Measured readings are not saved even if the Save Readings function is acti-
vated!
Select Free Running measuring mode if you want only an overview of the coating
thickness distribution.
Scan
Defined measured reading acquisition while the surface is being scanned with the
probe. You can set the number of measured readings and the interval time for mea-
sured reading acquisition in the gauge. The measured readings are automatically
saved in the batch (measurement file), provided the Save Readings function is acti-
vated.
Unlimited
According to the time interval set in the Scan measuring mode menu, a mea-
sured reading is acquired and saved every x seconds as the surface is being
scanned. Automatic measured reading acquisition is stopped by lifting off the
probe. This function is not suited for non-stop operation, see also notes on
page 46.
Limited Number
According to the parameters (time interval, number of measured readings to be
acquired) set in Scan measuring mode, a measured reading is acquired every x
seconds as the surface is being scanned. After n measured readings, automatic
measured reading acquisition stops. The measurement cycle is repeated when
the probe is applied again.
Counted Average
An arithmetical mean is formed from the individual measured readings contin-
uously acquired as the surface is being scanned, and this value is saved and
used for the further evaluation. Automatic measured reading acquisition is
stopped by lifting off the probe.
Limited Number Block
Available only when automatic block formation is activated. According to the
