Splitter
A passive splitter in a PON
link.
The number on the icon shows the split ratio.
The tester identifies splitters when you do an
Auto PON OTDR test or a Manual PON OTDR
test with splitters selected in the Manual PON
OTDR Settings. For other types of tests,
splitters show as large loss events.
End
The end of the fiber or a
loss greater than the end
threshold.
The End event always shows N/A for loss
because backscatter measurements are not
available on both sides of the event.
For SmartLoop tests, the End event for Fiber A
is the far end of the loopback cord.
The tester does not give a PASS/FAIL status to
this event, unless you use a custom test limit
that includes a limit for segment attenuation,
and the segment before the End event fails.
Hidden End
The end of the fiber is in
the attenuation dead zone
of the previous event.
The tester cannot give an accurate distance to
the end of the fiber because the end is hidden.
The tester does not give a PASS/FAIL status to
this event.
