How to Do a Test with Your Span Settings
1 Turn off Launch Compensation:
a. On the home screen, tap the test setup panel.
b. On the CHANGE TEST screen, tap EDIT.
c. On the TEST SETUP screen, set Launch Compensation to
Off.
d. Tap SAVE, then tap USE SELECTED.
2 Do an OTDR test. Figures 189, 190, and 191 show OTDR results
for a span.
Note
If you define a span, then do a bi-directional test on
a fiber, you can see the results from both ends of the
fiber, but the tester does not calculate averaged bi-
directional results. See item
 in Figure 158 on page
389.
How to Remove the Span Definition
Tap Tools, Span, then tap Delete.
How to Remove the Span Definition from a Test Result
1 Import the result into LinkWare PC.
2 Double-click on the result, then click Full Size Trace Viewer.
3 In the OTDR Trace Viewer window, click Span > Clear > OK,
then click Yes.
