 End 1/End 2 control: When you select a fiber ID set for tests with
an OptiFiber Pro OTDR module or for tests on single fibers with a
CertiFiber Pro OLTS module, this control lets you select an end of
the fiber so you can enter a name for the end (item
) and do
tests from that end of the fiber.
Step 5: Give Names to the Ends of the Fiber for OTDR Tests
Names let you identify the location of the fiber ends when you do
tests with an OTDR module. For example, End 1 is in the
telecommunications closet and End 2 is in a work area.
5-1 On the home screen, if the test type panel does not show the
Auto OTDR test, tap the panel, tap the Auto OTDR test, then
tap USE SELECTED.
5-2. On the home screen, tap the Next ID panel, then on the
CHANGE ID screen, tap the End 1: panel. See Figure 199.
5-3. On the EDIT END NAME screen, tap the field for End 1, then
use the keyboard to enter a name for End 1.
5-4. Tap the field for End 2, use the keyboard to enter a name
for End 2, then tap DONE.
5-5. On the CHANGE ID screen, make sure that the End 1/End 2
control at the top of the screen shows the end where you
will do the test (End 1 for this tutorial).
