Usage restrictions
General usage restrictions
You can restrict control panel operations, machine setting changes, and feature usage. User authentication is
required to use the machine.

Limiting access for users
You can limit service use and configure the upper limit for number of pages by user.

Types of authentication
[Log In to Local Accounts]
Use user information registered to this machine to manage authentication.
[Log In to Remote Accounts]
Use user information managed by an external authentication server (LDAP, Kerberos, SMB, ApeosWare
Management Suite 2, or Azure Active Directory can be used) for authentication.
When authentication was changed from machine authentication to external authentication, user information registered
to this machine and Private Print jobs are deleted.
During external authentication (excluding when ApeosWare Management Suite 2 is used), usable services can be used
from the control panel of this machine based on access-permission information acquired from the external
authentication server.
Authentication methods
User ID authentication
Register user IDs, passwords, and other user information to this machine or an external authentication server in
advance, and then enter user IDs and passwords directly from the control panel of this machine to authenticate
users.
Card authentication
Either register card numbers registered to cards or user IDs, passwords, and other user information to this device or
the external authentication server in advance, and then use cards to authenticate users.
Using both card and user ID authentication
User ID authentication and card authentication can be used together on this machine.

Note
When [Login Type] is [Log In to Remote Accounts], and [Authentication System] is [Authentication Agent], ApeosWare
Management Suite 2 becomes the accounting/authentication server automatically.
