9.5 Image Quality Problems
Symptom Cause/Remedy
Output is too light.
(Faded or unclear)
The paper is damp. Load fresh paper.
A drum cartridge or the fusing unit is damaged or deteriorated.
Depending on its condition, the drum cartridge or fusing unit may
need replacement. Contact our Customer Support Center or your
dealer.
Change the [Paper Type] setting and print again.
There are no toner remaining in the toner cartridge. Replace with a
new toner cartridge.

Black spots or lines appear on output.
Smudges appear at regular intervals
The machine interior (LED print heads) are dirty. Clean the machine
interior.
For details, refer to "Cleaning the Interior (LED Printheads)" (P.205).
The drum cartridge is deteriorated or damaged.
Depending on its condition, the drum cartridge may need
replacement. Contact our Customer Support Center or your dealer.
