Skipping password entry when using IC cards
If the IC card information, user information, as well as the refresh token for the corresponding user are saved on the
machine, the password entry may be skipped if the refresh token is still valid.
The IC card information, user information, as well as the refresh token can be saved on the machine with the
following procedure.
1. Configure the IC card.
Note
Configure the IC card settings using CentreWare Internet Services. For more information, refer to the CentreWare
Internet Services Help.
2. Configure [Device] > [Authentication / Accounting] > [Authentication / Security Settings] > [Authentication] >
[User Details Setup] > [Save Remote Accounts in This Device] to [Enabled].
3. Tap the IC card, and then enter the user ID and password.
From that point on, you can log in to the machine just by placing the IC card while the refresh token is valid.
A user ID and password must be entered again if the refresh token is expired or invalid.
Using information of Azure Active Directory
User attribute information is acquired from Azure Active Directory during machine authentication.
A certificate is not obtained.
The retrieved information is used for the following purpose when using this machine.
The user name for authentication is used as the user ID of jobs.
Settings for authentication with an IC Card Reader (optional)
When an IC Card Reader is installed, you can authenticate with the information registered on the IC Card, compare
the information registered on the IC Card with the user information registered on the machine, restrict the available
features, and perform Accounting Administration on the usage conditions.
Usable IC cards
For more information about the IC cards which can be used, refer to the IC Card Reader manual.
Using both IC cards and passwords
Configure whether to request password entry when logging into this machine using an IC card for external
authentication.
