Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
When Operation is Strange
Symptom Cause Solution
Media is meandering. The push roller has not been properly
set over the grit roller.
Confirm the push roller position.
Remove the push roller from whichever
side of the media.
Whether on the front side of the media
or the back side of the media, it is not
being cut straight.
Cut the edge of the media straight.
The tool carriage is contacting the left
edge of the surface, and a "Position
Error" is displayed. Or, the tool
carriage is contacting the right edge
of the surface, and a "Position Error" is
displayed.
When it is contacting the left side of
the surface, there is the possibility that
an error has occurred in the push roller
sensor.
When it is contacting the right side
of the surface, there is the possibility
that an error has occurred in the home
sensor.
Please contact the distributor where
you purchased the unit or your nearest

During the startup or plotting, a
"Position Error" is displayed and the
printer stops.
The media condition settings are not
appropriate.
Reduce the tool condition speed or
reduce the cut FORCE.
Something is contacting the tool
carriage and it cannot move.
Remove whatever is interfering with
the operation, and reconnect the
power.
An external force is added to the tool
carriage during the cut.
Remove whatever is interfering with
the operation, and reconnect the
power.
Media scraps have entered the
operating parts and degraded
performance.
Remove whatever is interfering with

Media is bowed. The media is set at a slant. Correct the setting of the media.
The specified length is not plotted or
cut. (slight distance error)
The media has slipped. Reduce the tool condition speed.
The distance adjustment value is not
appropriate.
Specify the appropriate distance
adjustment value.
Even if you set the media and raise
the set bar, “Please set the media” is
displayed.
The media is nearly transparent and
the media sensor cannot recognize
it. (This can occur depending on the
media.)
Media through which light passes
cannot be detected. This kind of
media cannot be used. Use the
recommended media.
If a bright light is reflected from the
media, the media sensor cannot
recognize it.
Change the position of the light
source. Place the light source so that it
does not directly strike the media.
There is the possibility that it will cause
a problem in the set sensor operation.
Please contact the distributor where
you purchased the unit or your nearest
Graphtec vender.
