16 Creating Splits
Groove Synthesis
To assign more than one Part to a Split zone:
1. As before, create a program with different sounds on Part 1, Part 2, and
Part 3.
2. Before you save the program, activate Part 1 and de-activate Part 2 and
Part 3. Then save the program.
3. In the multi-part section, press the mode button. The multi-part menu
appears.
4. Press soft button 3 (splits). The Splits controls appear. Part 1 is auto-
matically assigned to Split zone 1 (if Multi-part Button 1 is active/lit).
5. To add additional Parts to Split zone 1, simply press the Multi-Part
button of that part. The Split function assigns all currently active parts
to the currently selected split zone.
6. To add more Split zones, press soft button 3 (add). Any multi-parts that
are currently active are automatically assigned to Split zone 2.
7. If you want to remove or add a different Part to a specic Split zone,
use soft knob 1 to scroll to the desired Split zone then activate only the
desired Parts.
8. Save the program when you have nished.
With voice sharing off (set this with soft knob 4 in the splits menu) you will
not be able to add a part if it is already used in a different split zone. The state of the
controls correspond to whichever split zone is selected in the splits menu. In other
words, you can only edit the parts associated with a single split zone at one time.
