Groove Synthesis
Creating a Song
After you have recorded several patterns, you can arrange them into
a song. Each Song can contain up to 24 patterns and each pattern can
repeat up to 64 times.
To create a song:
1. In the Sequencer section, press any button to show the Sequencer
controls in the main display.
2. In the sequencer menu in the main display, press soft button 4 (right
arrow). Additional Sequencer parameters appear.
3. Press soft button 3 (song). The Song parameters appear. Here you will
arrange the patterns that you have recorded and specify how many
times each pattern repeats.
4. Press soft button 2 to turn Song mode on.
5. Use soft knob 1 to select the song section (1-24). This control defaults
to section 1.
6. Use soft knob 2 to select the song pattern number (1-24). This control
defaults to Pattern 1.
7. Use soft knob 3 to set the Play Count (1-64). This is the number of
times that pattern will repeat before moving to the next section/pattern.
8. If you want the song to loop, press soft button 3 (loop) and the song
will loop as long as the Sequencer’s play button is on.
9. When you have nished arranging the patterns in the song, make sure
Song mode is on, then press the Sequencer’s play button to begin song
playback. (If Song mode is off, the Sequencer will play a single pattern,
since this is its default mode of operation.)
10. To save the sequence, save the program by pressing the write button twice.
