Getting Started
The 3rd Wave is a 24-voice wavetable synthesizer with analog lters,
versatile modulation, and advanced wave playback capabilities. The secret
to its power lies in its numerous 64-position wavetables (both classic and
new) and its 6-stage Wave Envelope, which allows you to sweep through
these wavetables in variety of ways. Since each of the 3rd Wave’s three
oscillators can generate a different wavetable with a different wave enve-
lope, the sonic possibilities are immense.
The good news is that this power is easy to access. The majority of the
3rd Wave’s essential sound-shaping controls are within easy reach on its
front panel.
So dive right in and start checking out presets. Don’t hesitate to turn
knobs and press buttons to get a feel for how things sound and how the
controls work. When you have time, read this manual to learn essential
tasks such as how to use the wave envelopes, how to save presets, and
how to use the multi-part controls.

3rd Wave front panel
Sound Banks
The 3rd Wave has 500 presets divided into 5 banks of 100 presets. You
can edit and resave any of these sounds. Each preset has interesting
things mapped to the Mod Wheel of your MIDI controller. Some presets
also contain a sequence. Since the synth is 4-part multitimbral, many
presets have additional sounds programmed into each of its 4 parts. This
gives you a vast library of sounds to layer or copy.
