Creating Splits
Creating Splits
In additional to layering sounds, you can assign different sounds to
different sections of the keyboard. This allows you to play a bass sound
on the lower section of the keyboard, a pad in the middle section, and a
lead in the upper section, for example.
The example below explains how to create a three-part split.
To create a split program:.
1. Using what you learned in “Working with Multi-Parts” on page 9,
create a program with different sounds on Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3
(bass, pad, and lead, for example).
2. Before you save the program, activate Part 1 and de-activate Part 2 and
Part 3. Then save the program.
3. In the multi-part section, press the mode button. The multi-part menu
appears.
4. Press soft button 3 (splits). The Splits controls appear. Part 1 is auto-
matically assigned to Split zone 1 (if Multi-Part button 1 is active/lit).
(The Split function assigns all currently active parts to whatever Split
part is selected.)
5. Press soft button 3 (add). Multi-part 2 is automatically assigned to Split
zone 2.
6. Press soft button 3 again (add). Multi-part 3 is automatically assigned
to Split zone 3.
7. To set the keyboard range for Split 1, use soft knob 1 to scroll to Split
2. Then hold down soft button 2 (split zone) and press a key on the 3rd
Wave’s keyboard to set the end of Split point 1/the beginning of Split
point 2.
8. Save the program when you have nished.
