Importing Wavetables into the
“P” Set
With OS version 1.7 and higher, you can load your own wavetables
into the “P” wavetable bank of the 3rd Wave, which represents the PPG
format wavetables. Wavetables in this PPG format are simpler and have
a grittier character than the high-resolution wavetables in the”User”
wavetable bank.
By default, there are 36 wavetables in the “P” set. These are made up
of the original 32 PPG wavetables from the PPG 2.2 and 2.3 as the rst
32 locations in the “P” set. There are four additional wavetables: two
custom wavetables in slots 32 and 33, then the original Prophet VS
waves in slots 34 and 35 (with OS 1.7 and higher).
Because there are a total of 48 “P” wave slots available in total, you can add
an additional 12 wavetables of your own and load them into slots P36-P47.
If you want, you can also overwrite any of the other factory “P” waves —
though this will impact any presets that use them.
To create your own custom “P” wavetables you will use the Wave Maker
to import a .wav le that is 8192 samples in length. The .wav le can be
any sample rate from 24 kHz to 96 kHz at 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit resolu-
tion. The essential requirement is that the .wave le must be exactly
8192 samples in length. The 3rd Wave will format the sample data to the
correct bit depth and sample rate after your .wav le has been imported.
First you need to import audio into the 3rd Wave.
