ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Routine Observances
Routine observances of the Constellation Radio include the following:
• Look at the LED indicators on the faceplates to ensure that they are
all green.
On protected systems, only the on-line units have the
green LEDs lighted.
• Use the Keypad to do routine maintenance tests to ensure that the radio
is performing properly.
FCC Requirements
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires that records of
transmitter measurements be maintained.
The following measurements should be taken at least once a year and recorded
in a Maintenance Log (see
Appendix F
for an example of a Maintenance Log
form).
• Transmitter Assembly
– Reference frequency
– Power output (at the ACU transmit monitor port) (page 9-5)
