Do not start or run the engine
while the vehicle is supported by
the jack.
Use the jack only for lifting the
vehicle when changing wheels.
Do not get under a v ehicle that is
supported by a jack. No person
should place any portion of their
body under a vehicle that is
supported by a jack.
Vehicles with alloy wheels may
have a steel spare wheel. Drive
carefully and do not exceed
80 km/h if the tyre size or tread
pattern of the spare tyre is
different to the other tyres on the
vehicle. Although the spare tyre
was fully inflated when the vehicle
was new, it can l ose ai r over time.
Check the inflation pressure
regularly.

After fitting the spare tyre on the
vehicle, stop as soon as possible
to check the inflation pressure is
correct. Have the flat tyre repaired
or replaced and fitted back on the
vehicle as soon as possible.

Procedure – petrol vehicles
1. Park on a hard, level surface in
a safe location.
2. Apply the parking brake firmly.
3. Switch the hazard warning
flashers on.
4. Remove the ignition key.
5. Place the gear lever in
position P.

6. Chock the wheel diagonally (A)
opposite the flat tyre (B) with a
suitable solid object.
7. Open the boot.
8. Pull up on the cover strap/
handle.
