Installing a CPU
The server can use dual or quad-core CPUs. Dual-core CPUs contain two cores that function as
separate CPUs. Dual-core CPUs double the processing power of the CPU while maintaining the
physical dimensions of a single CPU. Quad-core CPUs contain four cores that function as separate
CPUs. Quad-core CPUs quadruple the processing power of the CPU while maintaining the physical
dimensions of a single CPU.
The server holds one or two dual or quad-core CPUs that provide the following configuration
options:
Dual-core CPUs:
• 1P/2C (one CPU/2 cores)
• 2P/2C
