Step 10 Vertically lift the trans flash module (TFM) out of the RAID controller card. See step (2) in
Figure 7-62.
Step 11 Remove the cable between the supercapacitor and the TFM. See step (3) in Figure 7-62.
Step 12 Horizontally open the plastic latches that secure the supercapacitor. See step (4) in Figure
7-62.
Step 13 Exert even force to lift the supercapacitor out of the server. See step (5) in Figure 7-62.
Step 14 Place the removed supercapacitor in an ESD bag.

7.34 Removing the Supercapacitor (Standard RAID
Controller Card)
Remove the supercapacitor before replacing it with a new one.
When LSI SAS3108 or PM8060 RAID controller cards are configured, supercapacitors can be
configured to provide extra power. Before removing a supercapacitor, power off the server.
Pay attention to electrical safety.
