1.5 Battery Safety
Do not connect the positive and negative poles of a battery together. Otherwise,
the battery may be short-circuited. Battery short circuits can generate high
instantaneous current and releases a large amount of energy, which may cause
battery leakage, smoke,
ammable gas release, thermal runaway, re, or
explosion. To avoid battery short circuits, do not maintain batteries with power on.
Do not expose batteries at high temperatures or around heat sources, such as
scorching sunlight, re sources, transformers, and heaters. Battery overheating
may cause leakage, smoke, ammable gas release, thermal runaway, re, or
explosion.
Protect batteries from mechanical vibration, falling, collision, punctures, and
strong impact. Otherwise, the batteries may be damaged or catch re.
To avoid leakage, smoke, ammable gas release, thermal runaway, re, or
explosion, do not disassemble, alter, or damage batteries, for example, insert
foreign objects into batteries, squeeze batteries, or immerse batteries in water or
other liquids.
Do not touch battery terminals with other metal objects, which may cause heat or
electrolyte leakage.
There is a risk of re or explosion if the model of the battery in use or used for
replacement is incorrect. Use a battery of the model recommended by the
manufacturer.
