Activation and shutdown
This section contains information required to activate, deactivate, or
restart the BSC rack.
3.1
Activation
Once the BSC rack has been installed and commissioned, no operator
action is required under normal conditions; the BSC is designed for
unattended operation. The appropriate PDU power switches should be
set to ON at all times (except when the BSC rack or one of the BSC
chassis should have power removed for servicing). Table 3-1 is a
summary of BSC rack switch positions and indications under normal
operating conditions.
Note
Table 3-1 reflects a fully-configured BSC rack (one
with a redundant -48 Vdc supply line (circuit B) to
the PDU and three operating BSC chassis). Your
BSC rack may not have the circuit B supply line
installed or may not be using all three BSC chassis.
In that case, only activate the PDU switches for
circuits that are actually functioning.
