Installing E1 interface
modules
Perform the following procedure to install E1 modules into the BSC
chassis assembly.
1. Remove an E1 interface module (see table 2-1) from its ship-
ping container. Save the container.
2. Press the front panel reset switch toggle into the down position.
3. Install the module into slot 13 (top).
4. Use a crosstip screwdriver to tighten the E1 module’s captive
screws.
5. Release the front panel reset switch toggle so that it returns to
the center position. Verify that the status LED readout displays
a u after completing SUDs.
Note
If the status readout does not display a u, the
module has failed SUDs. Refer to section 4,
“Troubleshooting.”
Repeat steps 1 through 5 to install additional E1 modules in descending
order into the BSC chassis, then refer to section “Installing control
processor modules.”
Installing control
processor modules

module (CPM) operates in one of three modes: global resource processor
(GRP), call control processor (CCP), or channel access processor (CAP).
Perform the following procedures to install CPMs into the BSC chassis
assembly.
Installing CPMs in GRP slots
1. Remove a CPM (see table 2-1) from its shipping container.
Save the container.
2. Press the front panel reset switch toggle into the down position.
3. Install the module into slot 3 (bottom) of the card cage.
