6. Grasp the top of the fan with your index finger and thumb and lift the fan out
of the fan cage.
7. If you are instructed to return the fan, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Replacing a rear fan
Use this information to replace a rear fan.
About this task
For proper cooling, the server requires that all fans in the system be operating at
all times.
Attention: To ensure proper server operation, if a fan fails, replace the fan
immediately.

cable connectors.

To install or replace a rear fan, complete the following steps
1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the new fan to any unpainted
metal surface on the server. Then, remove the new fan from the package.
2. Orient the fan as the following illustration.
