Removing the RAID adapter battery or flash power module from
the RAID battery tray
Use this information to remove the RAID adapter battery or flash power module
from the RAID battery tray.
About this task
To remove the RAID adapter battery from the RAID battery tray, complete the
following steps:
Procedure
1. Read the safety information that begins on page “Safety” on page vii and
“Installation guidelines” on page 32.
2. Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 22) and all attached
peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external
cables as necessary to replace the device.
3. Remove the server top cover (see “Removing the server top cover” on page
258).
4. Slightly use your finger or thumb to unlock the battery retention clip from the
battery holder. During the unlocking process you will hear a "click" sound.
5. If there is a battery cable, carefully disconnect the battery cable from the battery
cable connector on the battery.
6. Lift the battery up to remove the battery from the battery holder.
7. If you are instructed to return the RAID adapter battery, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to
you.
