Test Report No.: 17702074 003
Part I of II
saw blade and the table slot lining.
Verification: By checking the relevant drawings, inspection
of the machine and relevant functional testing of the
machine.
In cases where the saw blade is changed from above the
table, the table insert shall have a minimum width on the
non-fixed flange side in accordance with the dimension
“c” in Annex F, to allow safe saw blade changing.
Verification: By checking the relevant drawings, inspection
of the machine and measurement.
Access to the saw blade below the machine table
Access to the saw blade below the table shall be
prevented either by a fixed guard or for saw blade
changing by an interlocked guard (e.g. a moveable door
or removable table insert) interlocked with the saw blade
drive motor.
If the fixed guards are to be demounted by the user e.g.
for maintenance, their fixing systems shall remain
attached to the guards or to the machinery when the
guards are removed, e.g. with un-losable screws, see 6.3
jj).
Where access doors are provided these shall be
interlocked with guard locking at least in accordance with
Annex N of EN 1088:1995+A2:2008 to saw blade drive
motor.
The safety related part of the control systems (also see
5.2.1) for interlocking function shall conform to 5.2.8.
Verification: By checking the relevant drawings and/or
circuit diagrams, inspection of the machine and relevant
functional testing of the machine.
As an exception to 1st paragraph of 5.3.7.3.1 for building
site saws the table insert to be removed for saw blade
changing can be a fixed guard.
Any openings in the exhaust hood of building site saws for
chip removal shall either fulfil the safety distances in
accordance with Table 4 of EN ISO 13857:2008 or be in
accordance with the dimensions given in Figure 26.
