2. Close the cover of the InTouch enough so that you can view the display screen
as the device initializes.
Note: Although the backup battery is not fully charged, it may have enough power
to turn on the unit if the main source of power is off. It takes approximately 24
hours for the battery to fully charge.
Verify that the power is on
A red light inside the InTouch indicates that the power is on. If that light is not on,
check the power connections.
After you turn on the power, the InTouch initializes and performs internal
diagnostics. When the initialization finishes, the system displays the time and date
on the touchscreen. (The time and date may not be accurate until you set it in
Maintenance mode or when the device begins communicating with the host
application.)
If the screen does not display the time and date or the unit does not appear to be
on:
Check all your connections.
•Review “Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance” on page 85.
If necessary, contact your Kronos Representative.
When the InTouch has successfully initialized, go to “Step 12: Close and lock the
InTouch” on page 57.
