Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoslidetheserveroutfromtherack
enclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToreplacethePCIriser-cardassembly,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.InstalltheadapterinthePCIriser-cardassembly(see“Replacinganadapter”onpage185or
“ReplacinganLenovoServeRAIDSAS/SATAcontroller”onpage188).
Step2.ReconnectanyadaptercablesthatyoudisconnectedwhenyouremovedthePCIriser-card
assembly.
Step3.CarefullyalignthePCIriser-cardassemblywiththeguidesontherearoftheserverandwiththe
PCIriser-cardconnectoronthesystemboard;then,placeyourthumbsonlocationsmarkedbythe
bluetabsandpressdownonthePCIriser-cardassembly.Makesurethattheriser-cardassembly
isfullyseatedintheconnectoronthesystemboard.

Step4.Reinstallthecover(see“Replacingthecover”onpage158).

1.Installtheserverintotherackenclosureandpushtheserverintotherackuntilitclicksintoplace.
2.Reconnectthepowercordsandanycablesthatyouremoved.
3.Turnontheperipheraldevicesandtheserver.
