Attention:Staticelectricitythatisreleasedtointernalservercomponentswhentheserverispowered-on
mightcausetheservertohalt,whichmightresultinthelossofdata.Toavoidthispotentialproblem,
alwaysuseanelectrostatic-dischargewriststraporothergroundingsystemwhenyouworkinsidethe
serverwiththepoweron.
Toinstallahot-swappowersupply,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthehot-swappowersupplytoanyunpainted
metalsurfaceontheserver;then,removethepowersupplyfromthepackageandplaceiton
astatic-protectivesurface.
Step2.Removethepower-supplyfillerpanelfromthepowerbay,ifoneisinstalled.

Step3.Installthepowersupplyandpushitinuntilitlocksintoplace.
Notes:
1.Ifonlyonehot-swappowersupplyisinstalledintheserver,apower-supplyfillermustbe
installedintheemptypowerbay.
2.Donotmixpowersupplieswithdifferentwattageintheserver.
Step4.Routethepowercordthroughthehandleandcabletieifany,sothatitdoesnotaccidentally
becomeunplugged.
Step5.Connectoneendofthepowercordforthenewpowersupplyintotheconnectoronthebackofthe
powersupply;then,connecttheotherendofthepowercordtoaproperlygroundedelectrical
outlet.
Note:Iftheserverhasbeenturnedoff,youmustwaitapproximately3minutesafteryouconnect
theserverpowercordtoanelectricaloutletbeforethepower-controlbuttonbecomesactive.
