operational.Youcannowpressthe
power-controlbuttontopower-onthe
server.
4.IfthisLEDdoesnotblinkwithin30seconds
ofconnectingapowersourcetotheserver,
(trainedtechnicianonly)replacethesystem
board.
Eventlogs
ErrorcodesandmessagesaredisplayedinPOSTeventlog,system-eventlog,IntegratedManagement

POSTeventlog:Thislogcontainsthemostrecenterrorcodesandmessagesthatweregeneratedduring
POST.YoucanviewthecontentsofthePOSTeventlogfromtheSetuputility(see“StartingtheSetup
utility”onpage107
).FormoreinformationaboutPOSTerrorcodes,seeAppendixB“UEFI(POST)
errorcodes”onpage1017.
System-eventlog:ThislogcontainsPOSTandsystemmanagementinterrupt(SMI)eventsandall
eventsthataregeneratedbythebaseboardmanagementcontrollerthatisembeddedintheIntegrated
ManagementModuleII(IMM2).Youcanviewthecontentsofthesystem-eventlogthroughtheSetup
utilityandthroughtheDynamicSystemAnalysis(DSA)program(asIPMIeventlog).Thesystem-event
logislimitedinsize.Whenitisfull,newentrieswillnotoverwriteexistingentries;therefore,youmust
periodicallyclearthesystem-eventlogthroughtheSetuputility.Whenyouaretroubleshootinganerror,
youmighthavetosaveandthenclearthesystem-eventlogtomakethemostrecenteventsavailablefor

Messagesarelistedontheleftsideofthescreen,anddetailsabouttheselectedmessagearedisplayed
ontherightsideofthescreen.Tomovefromoneentrytothenext,usetheUpArrow()andDown

SomeIMM2.1sensorscauseassertioneventstobeloggedwhentheirsetpointsarereached.Whena
setpointconditionnolongerexists,acorrespondingdeassertioneventislogged.However,notallevents
areassertion-typeevents.

POST,andsystemmanagementinterrupt(SMI)events.YoucanviewtheIMM2.1eventlogthroughthe
