Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage182).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage188).
Step4.Disconnectthefancagepowercablefromthesystemboard(see“Internalcableroutingand
connectors”onpage33).
Step5.Rotatethefancagereleaselatchtotheopenposition.

Step6.Graspthefancageassemblyandliftitoutoftheserver.
Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheservercomponentoroptionaldevice,followallpackaginginstructions,
anduseanypackagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.
Installingthefancageassembly
Usethisinformationtoinstallthefancageassemblyfromtheserver.
Attention:Makesurethatallwiresandcablesinsidetheserverareroutedcorrectlybeforeyouinstall
thefancageassembly.Wiringthatisnotproperlyroutedmightbedamagedormightpreventthefan
cageassemblyfromseatingproperlyintheserver.

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
