1.Beforeyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyoubackupanyfeaturesondemand(FoD)keys
thatwereenabled.ReactivateanyFeaturesonDemandfeaturesafterreplacingthesystemboard.
InstructionsforautomatingtheactivationoffeaturesandinstallingactivationkeysisintheLenovo
FeaturesonDemandUser'sGuide.Todownloadthedocument,gotohttps://fod.lenovo.com/lkms,
login,andclickHelp.
2.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarethatthecustomerprovidesonadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethat
youhavethelatestfirmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.
3.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModuleII
(IMM2)AdvancedUpgradeandplaceitonthenewsystemboard.ForinformationabouttheAdvanced
Upgrade,see“Usingtheremotepresenceandblue-screencapturefeatures”onpage113
Note:YouhavetoreactivatetheFeaturesonDemand(FoD)afterreplacingthesystemboard.
