ThedefaultsettingsforthePowerPolicyoptionaresetbytheIMM2.1.
TochangethePowerPolicyoptiontothedefaultsettings,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Turnontheserver.
Note:Approximately20secondsaftertheserverisconnectedtoACpower,thepower-control
buttonbecomesactive.
Step2.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupisdisplayed,pressF1.Ifyouhavesetanadministratorpassword,you
musttypetheadministratorpasswordtoaccessthefullSetuputilitymenu.Ifyoudonottypethe
administratorpassword,alimitedSetuputilitymenuisavailable.
Step3.SelectSystemSettings➙IntegratedManagementModule,thensetPowerRestorePolicy
settingtoRestore.
Step4.GobacktoSystemConfigurationandBootManagement➙SaveSettings.
Step5.GobackandcheckthePowerPolicysettingtoverifythatitissettoRestore(thedefault).
Attention:Ifyousetanadministratorpasswordandthenforgetit,thereisnowaytochange,override,
orremoveit.Youmustreplacethesystemboard.
UsingtheIntegratedManagementModuleII(IMM2)
TheIntegratedManagementModuleII(IMM2)isasecondgenerationofthefunctionsthatwereformerly
providedbythebaseboardmanagementcontrollerhardware.Itcombinesserviceprocessorfunctions,video
controller,andremotepresencefunctioninasinglechip.
TheIMM2.1supportsthefollowingbasicsystems-managementfeatures:
•ActiveEnergyManager.
•Alerts(in-bandandout-of-bandalerting,PETtraps-IPMIstyle,SNMP,e-mail).
•AutoBootFailureRecovery(ABR).
•Automaticmicroprocessordisableonfailureandrestartinatwo-microprocessorconfigurationwhenone
microprocessorsignalsaninternalerror.Whenoneofthemicroprocessorsfail,theserverwilldisablethe
failingmicroprocessorandrestartwiththeothermicroprocessor.
•AutomaticServerRestart(ASR)whenPOSTisnotcompleteortheoperatingsystemhangsandthe
operatingsystemwatchdogtimertimes-out.TheIMM2.1mightbeconfiguredtowatchfortheoperating
systemwatchdogtimerandrebootthesystemafteratimeout,iftheASRfeatureisenabled.Otherwise,
theIMM2.1allowstheadministratortogenerateanonmaskableinterrupt(NMI)bypressinganNMIbutton
onthelightpathdiagnosticspanelforanoperating-systemmemorydump.ASRissupportedbyIPMI.
•Avirtualmediakey,whichenablesremotepresencesupport(remotevideo,remotekeyboard/mouse,
andremotestorage).
•Bootsequencemanipulation.
•Command-lineinterface.
•Configurationsaveandrestore.
•DIMMerrorassistance.TheUnifiedExtensibleFirmwareInterface(UEFI)disablesafailingDIMMthat
isdetectedduringPOST,andtheIMM2.1lightstheassociatedsystemerrorLEDandthefailingDIMM
errorLED.
•Environmentalmonitorwithfanspeedcontrolfortemperature,voltages,fanfailure,powersupplyfailure,
andpowerbackplanefailure.
