Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Thefollowingnotesdescribethetypeofmicroprocessorthattheserversupportsandotherinformationthat
youmustconsiderwhenyouinstallamicroprocessorandheatsink:
Microprocessorsaretobeinstalledonlybytrainedtechnicians.
Important:Alwaysusethemicroprocessorinstallationtooltoinstallamicroprocessor.Failingtouse
themicroprocessorinstallationtoolmaydamagethemicroprocessorsocketsonthesystemboard.Any
damagetothemicroprocessorsocketsmayrequirereplacingthesystemboard.
