Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToinstallanoptionalServeRAIDadaptermemorymodule,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecoveronpage49).
Step2.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage188).
Step3.LocatetheServeRAIDadapterwhichyouwillinstallthememorymodule.RemovetheServeRAID
adapterifnecessary.
Step4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthememorycardtoanyunpaintedmetalsurface
ontheserver;then,removethememorycardfromthepackage.
Step5.AlignthememorymodulewiththeconnectorontheServeRAIDadapterandpushitintothe
connectoruntilitisfirmlyseated.
