TologontotheIMM2.1webinterface,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Onasystemthatisconnectedtotheserver,openawebbrowser.IntheAddressorURLfield,
typetheIPaddressorhostnameoftheIMM2.1towhichyouwanttoconnect.
Note:IfyouareloggingontotheIMM2.1forthefirsttimeafterinstallation,theIMM2.1defaultsto
DHCP.IfaDHCPhostisnotavailable,theIMM2.1assignsastaticIPaddressof192.168.70.125.
TheIMM2.1networkaccesstagprovidesthedefaulthostnameoftheIMM2.1anddoesnot
requireyoutostarttheserver.
Step2.OntheLoginpage,typetheusernameandpassword.IfyouareusingtheIMM2.1forthefirsttime,
youcanobtaintheusernameandpasswordfromyoursystemadministrator.Allloginattemptsare
documentedinthesystem-eventlog.
Note:TheIMM2.1issetinitiallywithausernameofUSERIDandpasswordofPASSW0RD(witha
zero,notatheletterO).Youhaveread/writeaccess.Youmustchangethedefaultpasswordthe
firsttimeyoulogon.
Step3.ClickLogintostartthesession.TheSystemStatusandHealthpageprovidesaquickview
ofthesystemstatus.
Note:IfyouboottotheoperatingsystemwhileintheIMM2.1GUIandthemessage“BootingOSorin
unsupportedOS”isdisplayedunderSystemStatus➙SystemState,disableWindows2008or2012
firewallortypethefollowingcommandintheWindows2008or2012console.Thismightalsoaffect
blue-screencapturefeatures.

Bydefault,theicmppacketisblockedbyWindowsfirewall.TheIMM2.1GUIwillthenchangeto“OS
booted”statusafteryouchangethesettingasindicatedaboveinboththeWebandCLIinterfaces.
Usingtheembeddedhypervisor
TheVMwareESXiembeddedhypervisorsoftwareisavailableontheoptionalUSBflashdeviceorSD
cardwithembeddedhypervisor.
TheUSBflashdevicecanbeinstalledinUSBconnectorsonthesystemboard(see“Internalcablerouting
andconnectors”onpage33forthelocationoftheconnectors).TheSDcardcanbeinsertedintotheSD
adapter.Hypervisorisvirtualizationsoftwarethatenablesmultipleoperatingsystemstorunonahostsystem
atthesametime.TheUSBflashdeviceorSDcardisrequiredtoactivatethehypervisorfunctions.
Tostartusingtheembeddedhypervisorfunctions,youmustaddtheUSBflashdeviceorSDcardtothe
startupsequenceintheSetuputility.
ToaddtheUSBflashdeviceorSDcardtothestartupsequence,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnontheserver.
Note:Approximately5to10secondsaftertheserverisconnectedtopower,thepower-control
buttonbecomesactive.
Step2.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupisdisplayed,pressF1.
