Step9.Removethedustcoversfromthemicroprocessorsocketsofthenewsystemboardandplace
themonthemicroprocessorsocketsoftheoldsystemboardthatyoujustremoved.
Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheservercomponentoroptionaldevice,followallpackaginginstructions,
anduseanypackagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.
Attention:Makesuretoplacethesocketcoverforthemicroprocessorsocketonthesystemboardbefore
returningthesystemboard.
Installingthesystemboard
Usethisinformationtoinstallthesystemboard.
Notes:
1.Whenyoureassemblethecomponentsintheserver,besuretorouteallcablescarefullysothattheyare
notexposedtoexcessivepressure.
2.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarefromadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethatyouhavethelatest
firmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.See“Updatingthefirmware”

3.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModuleII

4.ReactivateanyFeaturesonDemandfeaturesafterreplacingthesystemboard.Instructionsfor

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallthesystemboard,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthesystemboardtoanyunpaintedmetalsurface
ontheserver;then,removethesystemboardfromthepackage.
Step2.Aligntheguidepinsandthealignmentpinsonthechassiswiththeholesonthesystemboard.
