Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstalla2.5-inchharddiskdrivebackplane,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage182).
Step2.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage188).
Step3.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage261).
Step4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheharddiskdrivebackplanetoanyunpainted
metalsurfaceontheserver;then,removethebackplanefromthepackage.
Step5.Positionthebottomof2.5-inchharddiskdrivebackplaneinthetabsoftheserverchassis;then,
rotatethetopofthebackplanetowardthefrontoftheserveruntilthelatchesclickintoplace.
