Ifyouhavereplacedaservercomponentorinstalledanoptionaldeviceintheserver,youneedtoreconnect
thepowercordsandallexternalcables,andturnontheserverandperipheraldevices.
Thermalgrease
Thethermalgreasemustbereplacedwhenevertheheatsinkhasbeenremovedfromthetopofthe
microprocessorandisgoingtobereusedorwhendebrisisfoundinthegrease.Usethisinformationto
replacedamagedorcontaminatedthermalgreaseonthemicroprocessorandheatsink.
Whenyouareinstallingtheheatsinkonthesamemicroprocessorthatitwasremovedfrom,makesure
thatthefollowingrequirementsaremet:
Thethermalgreaseontheheatsinkandmicroprocessorisnotcontaminated.
Additionalthermalgreaseisnotaddedtotheexistingthermalgreaseontheheatsinkandmicroprocessor.

Toreplacedamagedorcontaminatedthermalgreaseonthemicroprocessorandheatsink,completethe
followingsteps.
Step1.Placetheheatsinkonacleanworksurface.
Step2.Removethecleaningpadfromitspackageandunfolditcompletely.
Step3.Usethecleaningpadtowipethethermalgreasefromthebottomoftheheatsink.
Note:Makesurethatallofthethermalgreaseisremoved.
