7.9.4 Final drives – Checking the oil level

Prerequisites – The truck crane must be raised on outriggers and must be level.
– The engine must be switched off and secured against unauthorised use;

– The parking brake must be released.
Checking the
oil leve
l
• Check the oil level at all other final drives
in the same way.
• Turn the wheel until the marking (2) is
horizontal and is on the right, next to the
centre of the axle.
• Remove the drain plug (1).
• Check that the oil level is at the mark (2).
• Fit a new gasket and tighten the screw.
If the oil level is too low
• Top up the oil, à p. 7 - 63.
