7.19.3 Checking the cotter pin
Prerequisites – The coupling must be closed; à p. 7 - 132.
Checking the
cotter pin
• Check the wear on the cotter pin (1). The
diameter of the crowned section (arrows)
must not be less than the following values:
If the dimension is smaller than that given
above, have the cotter pin replaced by
Manitowoc Crane Care or an authorised GROVE
dealer or your qualified repair crew.
• Also check the cotter pin for the correct
vertical play. Take a screwdriver and press
the pin (1) upwards. The vertical play (2) of
the pin must not exceed 4 mm (0.15 in).
