DESCRIPTION
The E4N column is an electronic gauge
amplifier designed for the inspection of part di-
mensions and shape in the dynamic and static
modes.
The E4N column is:
The E4N column can be programmed from a personal computer using the E4N-PC LINK software
which can also be used to collect measurement data.
Measurement results are displayed on a three-color LED status scale (RED = out-of-tolerance,
YELLOW = pre-scrap, GREEN = within tolerance) and on two digital displays.
The lower section of the E4N houses a sensor signal amplifier module. Amplifier modules are
interchangeable and are available in versions for connection to inductive sensors (LVDT and HBT),
estensometer sensors (MRT) and air/electronic sensors (AIR).
The rear panel has connectors for the following functions:
• Connection to a printer or a DIGIMATIC statistical analyzer
• Signal analog output
• Serial connection to a printer or personal computer
• Remote relay control of external devices (e.g. resume lamps)
• Connection to an external pushbutton panel
The column is equipped with self-test diagnostics; at power-on the self-test function checks the
efficiency of all the column components and will display an error message in case of a system fault.
The E4N can be configured to manage a wide va-
riety of measuring tasks and hardware set ups.
All the functions of the E4N are managed by internal
software.
