• There is a camshaft sprocket positioning pin at the end of the camshaft, and a key groove in the camshaft
sprocket. Mis-assembly can be prevented by aligning the positioning pin with the key groove when assembling.
• The detection unit for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor is at the intake port side camshaft.
• The groove for securing the No.1 cylinder TDC of the camshaft is provided at the top of the intake and exhaust
camshaft.

• There are two intake valves and two exhaust valves for each cylinder. There are a total of 24 valves which are
directly driven by four camshafts.
• The variable valve timing mechanism has been adopted which insures the best valve timing according to the
drive condition by constantly changing the phase of the intake valve side camshaft.
