There is a camshaft sprocket positioning pin at the end of the camshaft, and a key groove in the camshaft
sprocket. Mis-assembly can be prevented by aligning the positioning pin with the key groove when assembling.
The detection unit for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor is at the intake port side camshaft.
The groove for securing the No.1 cylinder TDC of the camshaft is provided at the top of the intake and exhaust
camshaft.

There are two intake valves and two exhaust valves for each cylinder. There are a total of 24 valves which are
directly driven by four camshafts.
The variable valve timing mechanism has been adopted which insures the best valve timing according to the
drive condition by constantly changing the phase of the intake valve side camshaft.
