State of the product
Causes Handling method
The power cannot
be switched on/off.
y The voltage drops abnormally
when the batteries are used.
y The on/off operation is per-
formed at short intervals
(below 5 s).
y Execute the hardware reset by
holding
CANCEL
for 10 s or more.
y Change the batteries and reboot
the product.
y Detach the batteries and AC
adapter and set them again to
reboot the product.

The data output
cannot be performed
properly even if con-
necting the product
to a PC.
y Contact failure of USB cable.
y Broken USB cable.
y Abnormality of PC side con-
nector.
y Detach the product from the PC,
and reconnect it.
y If the product does not perform
properly after reconnection, con-
tact the agent where you pur-
chased the product or Mitutoyo
sales representative.
The product is not
recognized when
the PC returns from
the suspend mode
(sleep mode or
standby mode).
This may occur depending on
the PC type or the BIOS when
the product is connected via a
USB hub or an expansion USB
board.
Detach the unrecognized product
from the PC, and reconnect it.
If the product does not perform
properly after reconnection, reboot
the PC.
Tips
The product corresponds to the suspend function (sleep mode or standby mode) as the PC's power
supply mode.
However, this does not guarantee the complete operation with all the PCs or USB hubs.
If there is any obstacle in the operation with the suspend function in your environment, set the PC
power control not to be suspended during operation.
